An old veteran and recent TBI survivor

Hi everyone — I’m Tony, I’m an old Veteran and recent TBI survivor.

A few years ago, I suffered a traumatic brain injury that changed the way I experience life — physically, mentally, and emotionally. Since then, it’s been a journey of rediscovering who I am, learning patience, and finding new ways to live with purpose and peace.

I’ve come to see that healing from TBI isn’t just about recovery — it’s about re-connection: with ourselves, with others who understand, and with the world in new ways. That’s why I’m here. I want to both learn from others and share what I’ve discovered along the way — from daily coping tools and therapy experiences to reflections on mindset, family dynamics, and rebuilding identity after injury.

I’m also working on a few advocacy and awareness projects, including a writing and storytelling platform called Project TBI, where survivors can share their experiences to help others feel less alone.

I’m really looking forward to meeting fellow survivors, caregivers, and loved ones here — to share, listen, and support one another as we navigate this journey together.

Thanks for letting me be part of this space.
